What Is Happening Now
What Is Happening In Treadmills Right Now?
Several treadmill launches landed between August and October 2026, and they point the same way. Peloton launched three treadmills on October 1, including its first folding model, the Tread Flex. KingSmith, the company behind the WalkingPad, put a powered 18% incline on a deck that folds. SOLE refreshed its range with brushless motors and new consoles, including the F83 with a swivel 10.1-inch touchscreen.
Across all of them, treadmills are getting easier to live with: more fold, the controls are changing, and software comes in the box.

Peloton launched the Tread Flex, Tread Vision, and Tread+ Vision on October 1, 2026. KingSmith launched the WalkingPad G5i on August 24, 2026, and SOLE launched the F83 in early August 2026. The launch calendar has the details.
- Short on space? Three 2026 launches fold: the Peloton Tread Flex, the WalkingPad G5i, and the SOLE F63.
- Want incline? The WalkingPad G5i has an 18% powered incline, and SOLE lists 0 to 15 percent incline on the F63 and F83.
- Want to skip a subscription? SOLE says its SOLE+ app is free with no subscription required.
- Folding treadmills with more capability: the WalkingPad G5i folds and has a powered incline, and the SOLE F63 folds and has incline.
- New ways to adjust speed and incline: the Peloton Tread Vision adds up and down jump buttons, and SOLE says it redesigned its 2026 range with new consoles.
- Software in the box: Peloton IQ on Peloton's new treadmills, the SOLE+ app on SOLE's, and an AI Coach in iFIT, which runs on NordicTrack and ProForm treadmills.
The WalkingPad G5i is KingSmith's first foldable treadmill with a powered incline. KingSmith calls it an award-winning design and says it earned a CSS Award for innovative product design at China Sport Show 2026.

The Peloton Tread Flex. Peloton says folding it cuts its floor footprint by nearly half, and calls it its most affordable treadmill so far.
The Tread Vision replaces the Cross Training Tread, and the Tread+ Vision replaces the Cross Training Tread+. Peloton has said the earlier models will no longer be sold directly by Peloton after October 1, 2026.
A brushless motor is an electric motor that switches current electronically instead of through carbon brushes. SOLE says its brushless motors are quieter, smoother, and more durable.
A slat belt is a running surface made of linked slats instead of one continuous belt. Peloton uses one on the Tread+ Vision.
A powered incline is an incline that a motor raises and lowers, usually from the console, instead of one you set by hand.
A treadmill's footprint is the floor space it takes up, and folding designs shrink it when stored.
